Jordan ehliyeti ile Albania ülkesinde araç kullanma rehberi.
A valid Jordan driving licence can be used in Albania for the vehicle categories it covers while the holder has not been resident in Albania for more than one year. Albanian law does not impose a blanket International Driving Permit (IDP) requirement. If the licence does not conform to a treaty-recognized model, an official Albanian translation or equivalent document is required. Jordan issues the 1949 Geneva Convention IDP.
For a visitor or a person resident in Albania for no more than one year, the core legal document can be the valid Jordan national licence itself. The important conditions are licence validity, the correct vehicle category, the translation rule where the document does not match a treaty model, and any separate rental-company documentation rule.
Article 133 of the Albanian Road Code permits drivers holding a foreign national or international driving licence to drive vehicles for which that document is valid, provided they have not been resident in Albania for more than one year. The rule is destination-wide, but it applies directly to a valid Jordan licence. For special vehicles, Albania also requires any professional competence evidence that the issuing state requires in addition to the driving licence.
Albanian law does not state that every Jordan licence holder must carry an IDP. Article 133 instead requires an official Albanian translation or equivalent document when the foreign licence or IDP does not conform to models set by international agreements in which Albania participates. Jordan and Albania are both parties to the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic. The current FIA IDP repository records the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan as the issuing body and the Jordan IDP as the 1949 model. RACJ states that its IDP is valid for one year from issue, or less if the national licence expires sooner.
The Albanian rule is based on residence, not a fixed number of days after entry, so no fixed visitor-day maximum is stored here. A foreign licence may be used while the driver has not been resident in Albania for more than one year. DPSHTRR currently lists the states covered by its published conversion arrangements and Jordan is not on that list, so a Jordan licence holder becoming resident should confirm the licensing route with DPSHTRR rather than assume a direct exchange.
Rental-company policy can be stricter than the legal minimum. SIXT Albania requires a full valid licence held for at least two years and presentation of identity documentation. Its Albania terms also require a valid IDP when a non-EU licence is printed in a non-Roman alphabet. That condition depends on the script and format of the actual Jordan licence presented, and it is a SIXT rental rule rather than Albanian law.
Road Code article 178 requires the driver to carry the valid licence for the relevant category and specified vehicle documents. These include vehicle registration, the technical document, authorization to use the vehicle when the driver is not the owner, the compulsory insurance certificate, and the vehicle tax document. No Jordan-specific insurance condition was verified.
The one-year residence limit is the main exception for ordinary visitors who later become residents. Separate professional competence documents can be required for special vehicle categories. The translation rule also matters if the national licence does not conform to a treaty model recognized by Albania.
Carry the original valid Jordan licence. A RACJ-issued 1949 IDP is a sensible practical addition because it can resolve rental-company requirements for non-Roman-script licences and reduce translation uncertainty, but it should not be described as a blanket Albanian legal requirement. Confirm the actual rental company terms before pickup.
