Singapore ehliyeti ile Andorra ülkesinde araç kullanma rehberi.
A valid Singapore driving licence can be used in Andorra under the 1949 Geneva Convention framework. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is not an additional legal requirement where the national permit meets the Convention conditions, although the authorised Singapore issuer recommends an IDP as a useful supporting document. Andorra limits driving with a foreign permit to six months.
Singapore and Andorra are separate sovereign states. Singapore is a party to the 1949 Convention on Road Traffic, and the United Nations treaty record records application of that Convention to Andorra. The Convention provides recognition for qualifying valid national driving permits issued by another contracting state.
Article 24 of the 1949 Convention requires contracting states to allow qualifying drivers holding a valid permit issued by another contracting state to drive without further examination in the vehicle category or categories covered by the permit. Singapore succeeded to the Convention in 1972. The United Nations treaty record records the Convention's territorial application to the Principality of Andorra from 1953.
Andorra subsequently acceded to the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, effective 25 September 2025. Singapore is not listed as a party to that Convention, so the older 1949 Convention remains the relevant common treaty framework for a Singapore licence holder.
The 1949 Convention recognition rule covers a qualifying national driving permit, so an IDP is not established as an additional legal requirement for this pair. The Automobile Association of Singapore is authorised to issue Singapore IDPs under the 1949 Convention and lists Andorra among the places where its 1949 IDP is recognised. AA Singapore explains that an IDP can reduce inconvenience where English is not commonly spoken. Carrying one is therefore practical even though it is not treated here as a separate legal prerequisite.
The Government of Andorra announced that its revised driving-permit regulation reduced the period during which a foreign driving permit allows driving in Andorra from one year to six months. A fixed six-month limit therefore applies to use of the foreign permit.
For homologation of a foreign licence, Andorran administrative documentation distinguishes licences from outside the EU, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and the European microstates. Applicants in that group must provide prescribed evidence of authenticity and category equivalence. The precise availability and outcome of homologation for an individual Singapore licence should be confirmed with the competent Andorran authority.
No named rental-company terms were sufficiently verified for this Singapore-to-Andorra pair. Rental policy is separate from the legal recognition of the licence, and a company may impose its own IDP, minimum-age, licence-holding-period or documentation conditions. Check the terms of the company supplying the vehicle before booking or collection.
The sources checked establish licence recognition and the foreign-permit time limit but did not provide sufficiently specific Singapore-to-Andorra roadside-document or insurance requirements. For additional police documentation and insurance conditions: unverified – confirm with official authority.
Convention recognition does not expand the categories shown on the Singapore licence. The driver may use only vehicles within the categories for which the permit is valid and must comply with any applicable conditions attached to that entitlement. A learner permit should not be treated as equivalent to a full qualifying driving permit.
Travel with the original valid Singapore licence and consider obtaining the 1949 Geneva Convention IDP from the Automobile Association of Singapore. The IDP provides a standard multilingual document and may simplify rental or authority interactions. It does not replace the national licence, so carry both if you obtain one.
