Barbados ehliyeti ile Greece ülkesinde araç kullanma rehberi.
A person who does not have usual residence in Greece can use a valid Barbados driving licence when it meets the 1949 Geneva Convention conditions, covers the vehicle driven, and the holder meets the Greek minimum age for that category. Greece and Barbados are parties to that Convention. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is not a blanket legal requirement for this convention route, but the major rental firms checked require one alongside the Barbados licence.
For an ordinary visitor, the national licence can be legally sufficient under the convention route. There is no verified fixed visitor-day limit, because the Greek rule is tied instead to the driver not having usual residence in Greece. A rental contract can impose an additional IDP requirement even when Greek law does not.
Article 98(3)(d) of the Greek Road Traffic Code recognises valid foreign licences used as provided by international conventions or agreements ratified by Greece, provided the holder does not have usual residence in Greece. Barbados succeeded to the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic and Greece is also a party. Article 24 of that Convention provides for recognition of qualifying permits issued by another contracting state. The driver must use a licence valid for the corresponding vehicle category and must meet the Greek minimum age for that category.
Greek law contains a separate route for holders of a valid IDP, but Article 98 also recognises qualifying national licences through ratified conventions. No blanket legal requirement for a Barbados visitor to hold an IDP was identified when the national licence qualifies under the 1949 Convention route. No separate official Greece-or-Barbados recommendation for this exact pair was established in the sources checked. If an IDP is obtained for this treaty route, the applicable model is the 1949 Geneva Convention IDP in Annex 10. An IDP does not replace the national licence.
No fixed maximum number of visitor days was verified. The relevant Greek rule is based on the holder not having usual residence in Greece, so max_visitor_days is not represented as a day count. Once usual residence is acquired, the visitor exception in Article 98(3)(d) should not be relied on. A Barbados-specific exchange procedure was not identified in the current Greek conversion services checked. Resident conversion eligibility is unverified – confirm with official authority.
Rental-company terms are stricter than the legal minimum and are contractual conditions, not Greek driving law. The three major companies checked require an IDP for a Barbados renter.

Article 103 of the Greek Road Traffic Code requires the driver to carry the lawful driving licence and the applicable vehicle documents. It does not say that police routinely require an IDP from a Barbados visitor who qualifies under the convention route. The same article generally lists proof of insurance and road-tax payment among vehicle documents, but rental and leasing vehicles are exempt from carrying those two proofs and carry a copy of the vehicle registration. No Barbados-specific insurance coverage restriction was verified.
The recognition described here is limited by licence validity, the convention conditions, the vehicle category, Greek minimum-age rules and non-resident status. Special or professional vehicle categories can involve additional qualifications, so this page should not be used to infer commercial-driving entitlement. The separate Greek translation route for licences from states where an IDP is not issued is not the basis used here because the Barbados Licensing Authority provides an international driving-licence service.
For private driving as a non-resident, carry the valid Barbados licence and the vehicle documents required by Greek law. For a rental, obtain a 1949 Geneva Convention IDP before travel and carry it with the Barbados licence, because Hertz Greece, Enterprise Greece and Avis Greece terms checked require it for this case. An IDP should be treated as an additional document, not a substitute for the national licence.
